Frequently Asked Questions

for Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers

Are scholarships available?

Yes! You can apply for a scholarship HERE

Do I have to be present during the online session/s?

Although it's not required for parents, guardians, or caregivers to be present during the session/s, we still recommend it. Particularly for younger participants (up to age 8).

Do I get a discount if I sign up for more than one session?

No, we are not offering discounts for multiple sessions. However, scholarships are available if needed, and many of the sessions are even $0 to participate! >>REQUEST A SCHOLARSHIP<<

Do I have to provide the materials to participate?

In most cases, no. Your registration cost includes a materials kit which you can opt to have mailed to your home or you can pick up during designated pick up times. Some of the materials, such as tape or scissors, may not be provided, but all material needs are listed after registration so you're prepared.

I have more than one child participating. Do I have to register them both?

Yes. You'll need to register each individual in order for each registrant to receive a materials kit and/or log in information.

What online platform will this be hosted on?

We'll be using an online platform created by The Shop Rat Foundation. However, all video instruction takes place using Zoom. Links and more information are provided once you're registered.

I don't have a computer (or internet) for my child to use. Are there resources available?

We recommend tapping into the resources available through Jackson District Library. They have wifi hotspots available for check out (get on the waitlist NOW!), onsite computer access, and 24/7 wifi accessible in the parking lot or near the building.
